Day 126, 127 – Arrowtown to Queenstown

The trail between Arrowtown and Queenstown looked like mostly road walking, also it went past the golf course where they were holding the New Zealand open that day. Jayden decided to walk it but Holger and I decided to take a bus.

We got to Queenstown, resupplied, got food and looked for alternate ways around the lake.

There is a shuttle around the lake which is $60, but Holger thought that was too much, so he tried finding shorter way. You can hitch, but the road past Glenorchy is infrequently traveled and doesn’t sound reliable to hitch, which would mean walking at least 12 km more (depending on where you could get a hitch to). Eventually I decided to take the shuttle, Holger is going to try and hitch and Jayden is thinking of trying to hitch and if that doesn’t work getting on a late shuttle.

We went out in town, but I basically bailed right away, too much of a party/club scene for my taste. Queenstown is super touristy, which is why I wasn’t really keen on stopping here, but at least the food is good!
