Day 7 – 10/31 – mud for Halloween

Started Raetea Forrest rather early, they say to allow an hour for each kilometer because of the extremely muddy conditions, which I found to not be necessary, but for some people it is.

From what I understand Raetea forest is usually knee deep mud, I was happy for only ankle deep mud

Either way it was impressively muddy! I managed not to completely fall in, but that seems like almost a matter of time. Only made 7km of progress today, but the campsite is nicely placed in top of a small mountain, so at least there are some nice afternoon views.
