Between here and there

Before flying out to New Zealand I visited family and friends in Baltimore, Wisconsin, and San Francisco. We were going to go backpacking in the Sierras, but the temps were lower than our bags are rated for so we car camped at lower elevation instead and did day hikes.

Camping near Bishop, the desert doesn’t have many trees, so sometimes I have to be creative to set up my hammock. It’s so comfortable it’s worth the extra effort.

One day while hiking I bit down on a kind bar and immediately felt my crown come loose. When I got back to SF I was able to see a dentist. The bad news is it’s not just the crown, the tooth actually broke and needs to be replaced with an implant, which I don’t have time to do before I go. The good news is because of how it broke it’s stable and the dentist was able to recement the crown, although it’s likely to come out again, but at least it’ll just look bad!

Now I’m spending some time in SF hanging out with family and friends and doing some last minute prep for the big hike!

  • Love all these pictures! Where is the “Like” or “Love” button? 🙂 I hope you have such an amazing time in New Zealand! Don’t forget to try the pavlova, it should be soft, so I don’t think it would break any crowns 🙂
    Take care!
